New Leadership Takes Over Technology Department at Baker School District

In a major development for the Baker School District, Chaves Consulting of Baker City has been contracted to staff its Technology Department. This week, it was announced that Bob Duker and Matt Duman will be taking over for Justin Crego to lead the district’s Technology Department beginning June 1.

Bob Duker will join as the Systems Administrator, while Matt Duman will become Team Lead. Duman, who has been with the district’s Technology Department for almost 2.5 years, is familiar with the ongoing projects and will be in charge of summer projects, including those associated with safety and security for the buildings.

The Baker School District Superintendent Betty Palmer expressed gratitude for Mr. Crego’s expertise over the past several years, wishing him well in his future endeavors. She looks forward to working with Duker and Duman starting next month as they continue to utilize technology to meet the district’s vision, mission, and goals.

The Baker School District serves approximately 1,700 students locally in Baker City, Oregon, with an additional 3,000 online students across the state. The district is nationally recognized and a major employer in the area. Through collaborative efforts, the district is creating an innovative educational foundation for future Oregonians. They believe that strong school collaborations with local partners create vibrant communities that support lifelong learners.
