New Leadership in Technology and Student Support at Downers Grove South High School.

District 99 Announces Appointment of New Chief Technology Officer and South Dean of Students

Downers Grove South High School has recently welcomed two new additions to its team, with the Community High School District 99 Board of Education approving Philip Howard as the chief technology officer and Robert Godinez as the dean of students.

Philip Howard brings over 24 years of experience in information technology to his new role, with 18 of those years specifically focused on education. Prior to joining District 99, he served as the executive director of technology services at Lake Zurich CUSD 95, where he successfully led a team of 14 IT professionals. Howard also held various technology-related roles at Elgin Community College from 2006 to 2019.

Meanwhile, Robert Godinez has been appointed as the new dean of students at Downers Grove South High School. Godinez has extensive experience in educational leadership, having served on leadership teams at several schools within the Chicago Public Schools system. His previous roles include principal at Carver Military Academy High School, assistant principal at Farragut Career Academy and Peace & Education Alternative High School, as well as a Spanish teacher at Lake View High School and Morton East High School.

Both Howard and Godinez bring valuable skills and expertise to their respective roles within the District, and their contributions are expected to enhance the overall educational experience for students at Downers Grove South High School.
