New Jersey’s No. 2 prospect, Penn State lands highly-touted CB

Penn State secures commitment from Rivals250 cornerback Jahmir Joseph

Penn State has received a commitment from four-star cornerback Jahmir Joseph, a Rivals250 prospect hailing from New Jersey. After visiting Happy Valley over the weekend, Joseph was impressed enough to commit to the Nittany Lions. He is ranked as the No. 2 player in New Jersey, No. 12 cornerback, and No. 138 overall in the 2025 recruiting class.

Joseph had previously visited Stanford and Notre Dame before making his final decision to attend PSU. He canceled a planned visit to South Carolina following his commitment, showcasing his versatility as a recruit.

The talented cornerback held offers from several other programs and will next participate in the Rivals Five-Star event in Jacksonville to further showcase his skills on defense and special teams. Joseph is known for his physical play, ball skills, and tackling ability, making him an asset on both sides of the ball for Penn State’s secondary.

With Joseph’s commitment, Penn State now has three defensive backs committed in the 2025 class, part of a group of 15 total committed players that includes nine four-star prospects. The Nittany Lions are currently ranked No. 15 nationally in recruiting rankings as they continue to build a strong class for the future.

This commitment marks a significant addition for Penn State’s secondary as head coach James Franklin and the coaching staff add another talented player to their defensive backfield.
