New Interim President for Arts & Science Council: Adam Santalla Pierce Takes Over from Monifa Drayton

New Interim President Named by Arts & Science Council

As a new interim president, Adam Santalla Pierce will be taking over the Arts & Science Council, replacing Monifa Drayton who has been serving as interim president for the past few months. This change is set to take effect on June 23, 2023.

Santalla Pierce has worked with the ASC for seven years and most recently held the position of vice president of community and artist support. He is highly respected in Charlotte-Mecklenburg’s creative sector and brings extensive knowledge about ASC’s operations to his new role.

“Adam Santalla Pierce is an experienced leader and we are grateful to have him join us as our interim president,” said Tony Perez, Board Chair of ASC. “With his expertise and knowledge, we are confident that he will guide the organization through this transition period with great care and attention.”

The Arts & Science Council has been without a permanent leader since the departure of former President Krista Terrell on December 31, 2023. However, the organization plans to launch a national search to find its next leader in due course.
