A new Hyundai sales and service center has recently opened at 7300 Williamson Road in Roanoke County by Southern Team Automotive Group. The location currently stocks 200 vehicles and plans to add more in the future, with a staff of 45 people, including 18 new hires and 27 employees from the dealership’s former address. Behind the center, acreage is being prepared for additional cars and other expansion opportunities, as stated by company president David Dillon.
Meanwhile, in other news, three businesses have been recognized by the Botetourt County School Board for their contributions to the local schools. Altec Industries of Daleville supported a high school-level “innovation challenge” with prize money for student projects. Gala Industries of Eagle Rock pledged $30,000 towards a welding facility expansion at the Botetourt Technical Education Center. Additionally, Tyler Painter, an extension agent of Virginia Cooperative Extension, has been honored for guest teaching in elementary classrooms on various topics. These businesses play an essential role in enhancing the community and local schools, according to a press release from the Virginia School Boards Association.
