Guinness World Record set by 81-year-old Blue Line train operator

81-year-old train operator Helen Antenucci has set a new Guinness World Record for being the oldest train operator. Known for her passion for the New England Aquarium and her uplifting announcements to passengers, Antenucci has been operating Blue Line trains for nearly 30 years.

She started as a Blue Line driver in 1995 at the age of 53 and has since become an “unofficial ambassador” of the Aquarium Station, where she welcomes families with children who are going to have a happy experience. Passengers have taken to social media to praise Antenucci for her positive impact, with many recognizing her voice and cheerful messages during their daily commutes.

Antenucci expressed her gratitude to her coworkers, family, friends, and passengers for their support in making every day a wonderful journey. Despite turning 82 soon, she has no plans to retire and intends to continue bringing passengers to their destinations until her organization tells her otherwise. She remains humble about her world record achievement, simply stating that she does what she loves every day and is thankful for the opportunity to do so.
