New Da Vinci Science Center Ready to Spark Curiosity in Allentown

The Da Vinci Science Center, which has been under construction for nearly two years, is set to open in Allentown soon. The center will be located at the PPL Pavilion and will officially open its doors on May 22. The new, 67,000-square foot facility at Eighth and Hamilton streets will offer visitors a range of interactive experiences. From exploring the inner workings of the human body to getting an up-close visit with North American River Otters in the Pocono Ravine, there will be plenty of hands-on activities to engage in, according to a press release from the Da Vinci Science Center.

The City Center Gallery, an 8,000-square foot space within the center, will feature the first exhibit titled “Dinos Alive!”, focusing on dinosaurs. In addition to the exhibits, the center will also have classrooms, laboratories, and interactive workshops for visitors to enjoy and learn from. Executive Director and CEO Lin Erickson expressed excitement about welcoming the community to the Lehigh Valley’s new premier science center. The center’s mission is to bring science to life and lives to science, inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s insatiable curiosity.

As part of the move to its new location at Eighth and Hamilton streets in downtown Allentown, the current location of the Da Vinci Science Center at Cedar Crest College will be closing on April 1st.
