Clemson Police to announce crackdown on fake IDs

The Clemson Police Department will soon launch a new initiative aimed at reducing the use of fake identification at local bars, announced Chief Jorge Campos during a meeting of the Clemson Police Advisory Board on March 28. The pilot program, which uses the software Intellicheck to scan and verify driver’s licenses, has already been successfully implemented at Tiger Town Tavern for several years. However, the cost of the program, estimated to be around $42,000 per year, needed to be addressed by City Council.

The official announcement about the pilot program will be made by Chief Campos on Tuesday, April 16 at Tiger Town Tavern. The event will take place at 11 a.m., and FOX Carolina will be covering it live. Meanwhile, Mak&Cheesecakes is set to open a new location in downtown Greenville, which is sure to bring excitement and more updates to the area. Stay tuned for more information on these developments.
