New Challenges for College Football Fans: Navigating the Complex Broadcast Landscape with TNT’s Involvement in College Football Playoffs

New Broadcast Partner Announced for College Football Playoff

The upcoming college football season is set to bring even more challenges for fans looking to keep track of their favorite games. With the already complex broadcast landscape, things are about to get even more confusing as a new network is added to the mix for some of the biggest games of the year.

Throughout the season, the SEC and ACC games will primarily be shown on ESPN and its partners, while the Big Ten will be broadcast on Fox, NBC, and CBS. The Big 12 games will air on ESPN and Fox. However, when it comes to the College Football Playoff games, things start to get even more complicated.

ESPN recently announced a deal with TNT Sports to sublicense College Football Playoff games from 2024-2028. This means that starting in 2024, TNT will broadcast two first-round games and this will expand to two first-round games and two quarterfinal games from 2026-2028. ESPN will select two first-round games and assign the rest to TNT.

With the new 12-team College Football Playoff format, there are a total of eight first-round games: No. 5 vs. No. 12, No. 6 vs. No. 11, No. 7 vs. No. 10, and No. 8 vs. No
