New CFO Brings Extensive Experience and Commitment to LMH Health’s Financial Strategy

Longtime Lawrence Leader Chosen as CFO for LMH Health

Rob Chestnut has been appointed as the new Chief Financial Officer at LMH Health. Chestnut, a longtime leader in Lawrence, will begin his role on May 20th. With extensive experience serving as a Lawrence City Commissioner and on LMH Health’s Board of Trustees, including chairing the finance committee, Chestnut brings a wealth of knowledge to the organization.

Chestnut’s most recent position was as CFO of Evolution Research Group, a national clinical trials company. In a statement, Chestnut expressed his honor in continuing to serve the mission of LMH Health and his commitment to advocating for the health system within the community. He emphasized the importance of transparency and trust within the organization and aims to create an environment that fosters these qualities.

The hospital looks forward to having Chestnut on board and believes that his leadership will be instrumental in driving LMH Health’s financial strategy and goals moving forward. LMH Health President and CEO Russ Johnson voiced confidence in Chestnut’s abilities and dedication to the hospital, noting his extensive financial experience with various organizations.

This appointment comes after the termination of LMH’s previous CFO, Mike Rogers, who was found to have hidden his criminal record during the hiring process. This led to LMH implementing stricter background checks for new hires. The hospital is committed to ensuring that its employees are trustworthy and ethical, and this appointment marks an important step towards achieving this goal.
