New CEO Brings Fresh Perspective and Expertise to Sisters of Charity Health System

Next president and CEO announced by Sisters of Charity Health System

Michael J. Goar has been appointed as the new president and CEO of the Sisters of Charity Health System, taking over from Jan Murphy on July 22. With over 25 years of leadership experience in the nonprofit and education sectors, Goar brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new role.

Prior to his appointment at the Sisters of Charity Health System, Goar served as president and CEO of Catholic Charities of St. Paul-Minneapolis, where he successfully developed a strategic plan, identified new revenue streams, and established a $50 million reserve fund in partnership with the board. His extensive career also includes leadership positions with Minneapolis Public Schools, Boston Public Schools, and Memphis City Schools.

Goar’s tenure at Catholic Charities saw him leading a $10 million capital campaign and expanding the organization’s reach from serving 2,000 to 4,500 children. With his leadership, the Sisters of Charity Foundation of Canton, established in 1996, looks forward to continuing its mission of providing quality healthcare and support to the community.

The Sisters of Charity Health System is committed to delivering high-quality care to its patients while also making a positive impact on the communities it serves. With Goar’s appointment as president and CEO, the organization is well-positioned for continued success in achieving these goals.
