The Black Hills Health Care System receives new Medical Center Director appointment from VA

The Department of Veterans Affairs has appointed Spencer Mion as the new Medical Center Director of the Black Hills Health Care System. Mion, with 11 years of experience in the VA’s Midwest Region, most recently served as the Associate Director of the Black Hills System.

Robert McDivitt, Executive Director for the VA’s Midwest Health Care Network, expressed confidence in Mion’s abilities to take on the role of Director. McDivitt believes that Mion’s experience as Associate Director has equipped him to provide leadership and guidance to employees, volunteers, health care partners, the community, and most importantly, the Veterans served by the system.

Mion holds two master’s degrees from Minnesota State University Moorhead—one in Business Administration and one in Health Care Administration. His educational background coupled with his extensive experience in the VA make him an excellent choice for this position.
