New Arrival: Jonathan Bond Signs with Watford for 2021-2022 Season.

Watford bring back goalkeeper Bond following time in the US

Jonathan Bond has signed a one-year contract with Watford, with an option for an additional 12 months. The 31-year-old goalkeeper had been a free agent since leaving LA Galaxy in February. Bond previously spent two and a half years with West Brom from 2018 to 2021, where he made seven appearances in cup matches.

Bond began his career at Vicarage Road, coming up through the academy before making 33 first-team appearances. He then moved on to Reading in 2015 before eventually returning to Watford. Bond expressed his nostalgia at returning to the club, mentioning how it gave him his start in the game.

The goalkeeper reflected on his various experiences at different clubs in England and abroad, noting that he feels more prepared now to contribute to the team’s success. Bond’s arrival comes after the departure of Ben Hamer, who played 21 games last season but has since joined Sheffield Wednesday. Bond hopes to provide support to the first team and help achieve success with his newfound experience.
