As part of the Mikal Bridges deal, the Nets have finalized a trade with the Knicks. This move sees Shake Milton and Mamadi Diakite being sent to Brooklyn, with Milton signing a three-year deal worth $9 million as part of a sign-and-trade agreement. The addition of Keita Bates-Diop from the Nets also adds depth and talent to the Knicks’ roster.
The Knicks had been working on multiple deals to maneuver around hard salary cap restrictions as they entered free agency. This trade with the Nets is just one piece of their overall strategy to remain competitive in the upcoming season. The flexibility that this move provides will allow them to continue building their roster while staying below the first apron hard cap.
