Nestlé has announced its plans to build a new wet pet food production factory in Mantua, Italy, with a substantial investment of 472 million euros. This was revealed by Minister of Business and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, following a meeting with Marco Travaglia, the president and CEO of Nestlé Italiana, at Palazzo Piacentini. The project is deemed strategic by the CAIE (Interministerial Committee for attracting foreign investments) and will also include a new logistics hub.

The factory will cover an area of around 180,000 square meters in the Valdaro industrial area of Mantua and will create job opportunities for 300 new employees, as well as related industries. The project is expected to have significant impacts on the agricultural supply chain, with an estimated annual expenditure of 50 million euros on agricultural products and 30 million euros on packaging and industrial services.

Minister Adolfo Urso expressed his satisfaction with Nestlé’s decision to strengthen its presence in Italy, emphasizing the country’s importance to global companies. He also commended the Ministry’s support in facilitating the project. Marco Travaglia echoed this sentiment, highlighting Italy’s strategic role for Nestlé in the rapidly growing sector. The collaboration between Nestlé and the Ministry was instrumental in achieving this significant milestone.
