Nelly Korda Struggles at Women’s PGA Championship as Sarah Schmelzel and Amy Yang Lead the Way

Korda’s impressive 81 not enough to make cut at Women’s PGA Championship

Nelly Korda had a successful season, winning her first major at the Chevron Championship in April. However, she did not fare as well at the Women’s PGA Championship, missing the cut after shooting a disappointing nine-over par second round. Despite her struggles, Sarah Schmelzel and Amy Yang excelled in the second round, taking the lead at six under par. Lexi Thompson is currently tied for third on four under par.

Korda was visibly frustrated with her performance and expressed her disappointment, stating that she intended to reset before her next tournament. Meanwhile, Schmelzel was pleased with her round and excited to be in contention for a major victory. The competition at the Women’s PGA Championship in Seattle is fierce, with several top players vying for the title. With two more rounds to go, anything can happen in this major championship event.
