Nelly Korda Continues Streak with Chevron Championship Win and LPGA Record

Nelly Korda Achieves Historic LPGA Victory at Chevron Championship

Nelly Korda of the United States claimed victory in the Chevron Championship with a stunning three-under par performance in the final round. She started behind leader Ryu Hae-ran of South Korea but managed to finish ahead of her, securing her fifth consecutive tournament win and equaling an LPGA record.

Korda’s triumph also marked her second major title, making her one of only a few players to have achieved this feat. The other two are Nancy Lopez from 1978 and Annika Sorenstam from 2005.

The final leaderboard showed Korda finishing two shots ahead of Sweden’s Maja Stark, who surged late in the tournament to secure second place. American Lauren Coughlin had the best round of the day with a four-under 68, ending up tied for third place with Canada’s Brooke Henderson on 10 under.

Other notable finishes included an English trio – Georgia Hall, Charley Hull, and Lottie Woad – who finished in a share of 23rd place at one under. Northern Ireland’s Stephanie Meadow finished a shot further back. Korda expressed her nerves and excitement after the win, stating that winning a major had always been a dream of hers since childhood.
