NC A&T Students Collaborate with NASA on Automation Research while Advocating for Investment in Education

William Gray, a student at NC A&T, is currently working in a lab where he is learning about automation. Gray is excited about the research projects happening in the lab and the collaboration with various departments. He believes that showcasing their work to astronauts and the governor highlights the college’s advanced capabilities and demonstrates their expertise in the field. This is not the first time that NC A&T has been involved with NASA as Chancellor Harold Martin Sr. mentioned that they have a long-standing relationship with the organization.

During a recent visit, NASA astronaut Christina Koch, who holds the record for the longest space flight by a woman, shared her experience in space. Koch, who attended North Carolina State University, showed a special place in North Carolina that she saw from space using a classroom projector. She emphasized the importance of education she received in North Carolina public schools starting from middle school in Jacksonville and moving on to North Carolina State University.

Governor Cooper emphasized the need for investment in public schools during his budget presentation to the State Assembly. He explained that investing in education is crucial for North Carolina to thrive in business and innovation. Cooper’s remarks underscored the significance of investing in public education for future success of North Carolina.
