NBA Investigates Possible Betting Irregularities with Toronto Raptors’ Jontay Porter

NBA Investigating Suspicious Betting Activities Involving Jontay Porter of Toronto Raptors

The NBA is currently conducting an investigation into possible betting irregularities involving Jontay Porter of the Toronto Raptors. Porter has been absent from the team’s last two games due to personal reasons, and neither the Raptors nor Porter’s representatives have commented on the matter.

According to reports, there have been two instances where DraftKings Sportsbook flagged prop bets related to Porter in their daily betting insights. On January 26, users who placed bets on the under for Porter’s three-pointers were the biggest winners for NBA player prop betting that day. On March 20, prop bettors who wagered on Porter were also the biggest earners for that specific day’s NBA betting. In both cases, Porter exited the game early.

Porter typically averages around 14 minutes of playing time per game, but he only played four minutes on January 26 and did not attempt a three-pointer before leaving due to a reaggravation of a previous eye injury. On March 20, he played just three minutes and scored zero points before being sidelined due to illness.

A spokesperson from DraftKings declined to comment on this situation but emphasized that legal and regulated sports betting plays a crucial role in identifying and reporting any suspicious activity in order to maintain the integrity of sports, which is impossible in illegal markets.
