Sunday night’s NASCAR Cup race at Richmond: Who came out on top and who fell short

Joey Logano turned his season around with a second-place finish at Richmond Raceway. The NASCAR fan who benefited from the use of wet weather tires was Denny Hamlin, who took home his second win in the last three races and his third win of the season overall. Martin Truex Jr. finished fourth despite being in position to win before a caution sent the race into overtime. Chase Elliott also had a strong finish, placing fifth with a season-best performance.

On the other hand, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. finished 33rd for the third consecutive race at Richmond Raceway. Harrison Burton placed 34th, marking his fifth finish of 30th or worse in seven races. Zane Smith came in 35th, marking the fifth time in seven races he has finished 29th or worse.
