NBC Sports’ NASCAR Power Rankings leading up to the Chicago race

At Nashville Superspeedway, chaos reigned on the track, but the NBC Sports NASCAR Power Rankings saw a more subdued shake-up. Despite winning both stages and leading the most laps at Nashville, Christopher Bell maintained his position at No. 1 after crashing in traffic.

Tyler Reddick finished third at Nashville and expressed frustration at not being able to overtake Joey Logano for the win, but he still managed five top 10 finishes in the last six races. Chase Elliott continued his streak of top 20 finishes, while Denny Hamlin faced challenges in overtime leading to a 12th place finish.

Ryan Blaney’s sixth-place finish secured him a spot in the top 10 rankings, along with newcomer Chris Buescher who has scored back-to-back fifth-place finishes. Brad Keselowski, who finished 25th after a wreck, William Byron and Ross Chastain rounded out the top 10 rankings for this week. Josh Berry dropped out of the rankings following the latest races.
