Mysterious fire breaks out in Summerville, causing smoke and water damage to neighboring businesses

Early Morning Business Fire Prompted Response from Summerville Fire Crews

On Sunday morning, several businesses in Summerville, South Carolina experienced smoke and water damage after a fire broke out in one of them. The fire was reported on the 1200 block of Old Trolley Road, but there were no visible signs of fire from the outside.

Upon arrival at the scene, crews encountered smoke and heat upon entry, indicating that a fire was present. The fire was quickly located and controlled in under five minutes, but neighboring businesses suffered from smoke and water damage.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident. However, the cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time. Summerville Police closed Old Trolley Road at Beverly Drive around 4:30 a.m., and it was reopened just before 7 a.m. Copyright 2024 WCSC. All rights reserved.
