Ms. Hernandez’s Innovative Vertical Garden Project Earns Teachers Federal Credit Union’s Top recognition in 4th Annual Teacher Appreciation Week Contest.

Victoria Hernandez, WFMS Science Teacher, Recognized as Finalist in TFCU Teacher Appreciation Week Contest

Ms. Hernandez, a sixth-grade general education and ENL science teacher at William Floyd Middle School, is one of the top six middle school level finalists in Teachers Federal Credit Union’s “Teacher Appreciation Week Contest.” She has the opportunity to win a grant of up to $2,500 for her classroom, which will be used to build an interactive vertical garden using coding and technology. To celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week from May 6-10, Teachers Federal Credit Union is hosting its 4th Annual Teacher Appreciation Week Contest. Ms. Hernandez has demonstrated the highest standards of teaching excellence and leadership in the state. She is the driving force behind the school’s Science Fiction Club, providing students with an outlet for their love of the genre. Additionally, she fosters critical thinking, creativity, and a sense of community among club members. Ms. Hernandez is dedicated to professional development and continuously seeks ways to enhance her teaching methods, stay updated on educational trends, and collaborate with fellow educators to refine her craft.
