Montana Breweries Shine at World Beer Cup: Lewis and Clark Brewing Company and Copper Furrow Brewing Win Awards

Two Helena-based breweries, Lewis and Clark Brewing Company and Copper Furrow Brewing, made headlines for winning awards at the World Beer Cup. Max Pigman, owner and president of Lewis and Clark Brewing Company, expressed his excitement about winning gold for Miner’s Gold Hefeweizen American wheat beer. This beer, which was the first one brewed by the company, has now won gold at the World Beer Cup for the second time. Pigman credited his team for their dedication to quality and consistency in producing this award-winning beer.

Meanwhile, Copper Furrow Brewing earned a bronze award for its Tmavé international dark lager. Head brewer Nick Diehl expressed his gratitude for the accolade, emphasizing the significance of winning such a prestigious award from judges who are experts in the field. Diehl admitted that winning a major award as the only person responsible for brewing was especially gratifying. In addition to these two breweries from Helena, two other Montana breweries also won Bronze awards – Sacred Brewing Company in Kalispell and MAP Brewing Company in Bozeman.

The competition at the World Beer Cup was fierce with over 2000 breweries submitting more than 9000 beers for judging. These beers were awarded around 300 prizes in approximately 100 categories. The judges recognized excellence in various styles of beers from all over the world showcasing their talents in crafting world-class beers.
