In the latest State of Play event, Capcom unveiled details about its upcoming action RPG, Monster Hunter Wilds. Set to release in 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, players of Monster Hunter: World can look forward to earning special bonus items in this new game.
Monster Hunter Wilds introduces multidimensional biomes that can transform unpredictably. The first revealed environment is the Windy Plains, a vast region featuring harsh deserts, twisted rock formations, and rolling grasslands teeming with life. The ecosystems of Monster Hunter Wilds are inhabited by various wildlife adapted to their surroundings, including smaller monsters like the Dalthydon and Ceratonoth and larger creatures like the Doshaguma and Chatacabra.
Players will encounter a diverse range of wildlife in Monster Hunter Wilds as they explore the Forbidden Lands alongside their companions. This is the first time in the series that hunters will face the unknown alongside their teammates. New features have been introduced while retaining elements loved by fans of the series. Players can seamlessly transition between story and gameplay thanks to rideable creatures called Seikret, which enable moving actions like weapon sharpening and material gathering. Hunters can also switch secondary weapons while on the go, adapting to different situations without having to return to base.
All 14 weapon types from the series return in Monster Hunter Wilds with new actions. Precision Mode offers finer control over aiming, and the Hook Slingshot provides additional abilities, including picking up items from a distance. Save data from Monster Hunter World: Iceborne will unlock Felyne Leather Pouch and Felyne Scouting Wedge as bonus items in addition to rewards like Felyne Leather Set and Felyne Acorn for players who connect their Monster Hunter: World save data.
