Modi Congratulates Indian Cricket Team on T20 World Cup Victory and Highlights Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli’s Retirement from T20 Internationals

Prime Minister Modi extends congratulations to Indian cricket team after T20 World Cup Final victory against South Africa

On June 30, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi called the cricket team to congratulate them on their T20 World Cup win. During the call, Mr. Modi praised Rohit Sharma for his outstanding captaincy and T20 career, as well as Virat Kohli for his impressive performance in the final match and his overall contribution to Indian cricket.

Both players announced their retirement from T20 internationals after the victory. The Prime Minister also commended Hardik Pandya for his final over and Suryakumar Yadav for his remarkable catch on the boundary line to dismiss David Miller. Jaspreet Bumrah’s contribution was also highlighted by Mr. Modi. Additionally, he thanked coach Rahul Dravid for his role in Indian cricket’s success.
