On Thursday, the MLS action was nothing short of intense, as three games unfolded on the field. The LAFC made a strong statement by defeating their local rivals, the LA Galaxy at the Rose Bowl and taking their position atop the Western Conference. Despite a late fight-back from the Galaxy, LAFC emerged victorious.

In contrast, the unbeaten streak of Portland Timbers came to an end in a thrilling five-goal match against Dallas. After leading early, Timbers saw Dallas score three goals in the second half to secure the win. Meanwhile, Colorado secured a much-needed victory against Sporting Kansas City with a late Đorđe Mihailović penalty after falling behind early in the second half.

The standout moment of the night was LAFC’s 94th-minute win that will surely be remembered for years to come despite it being from a penalty kick. The victory not only extended their lead in the Western Conference but also put them just four points behind Inter Miami in the Supporters Shield race.

Dallas made a comeback and secured a crucial win against Timbers, but they still sit outside playoff picture in Western Conference. In contrast, Rapids reclaimed third place with their dramatic win following a heavy defeat to LAFC in the previous week.
