In November 2020, Fox Factory Holding Corp. acquired Marucci Sports for $572 million after changing ownership in a $200 million deal. The sports equipment company, based in Baton Rouge, has now announced a license agreement with Major League Baseball (MLB). Under this agreement, Marucci and Victus brands will become the official bats of MLB.
The exclusive license will come into effect on January 1, 2025, and will run until December 31, 2028. Marucci Sports was founded by former LSU and MLB pitcher Kurt Ainsworth in 2009. The company acquired Marucci Bats, which was initially founded by LSU athletic trainer Jack Marucci, in 2016.
Fox Factory Holding Corp.’s acquisition of Marucci Sports marks its expansion into the sports equipment industry. The company is known for its production of high-quality sports equipment and apparel for various sports such as baseball, football, basketball, and soccer. With this new agreement with MLB, Fox Factory Holding Corp. hopes to further establish itself as a leading player in the sports industry.
