Mixed Performances on the Helsinki Stock Exchange: Purmo Surges Amid Declines for Most Shares

On Friday, the Helsinki Stock Exchange experienced a decline with the general index falling below 10,000 points for the first time since May. Despite this, there were some positive gains in certain companies and sectors.

One such company was Purmo, which announced significant improvements in its purchase offer for another air conditioning company. The improved offer included a cash consideration of 11.15 euros for C shares and 6.75 euros for F shares, with a minimum acceptance condition lowered to more than 80 percent of all shares. This news led to an increase in Purmo’s share price by 6.67 percent, making it the biggest gainer on the Helsinki Stock Exchange for the day.

However, despite Purmo’s gains, most exchanged shares were still declining on Friday. The most traded stock of the day was Nordea, which ended with a decrease of 0.96 percent. Kone was one of the few exceptions, closing up 0.38 percent at 18:30.

Shares of Stora Enso and Konecranes were among the biggest losers on Friday, falling more than 3 percent each. However, YIT had an even bigger drop with its share falling by 5.45 percent after recently announcing plans to issue a bond with an interest rate of almost 11 percent.

Overall, fluctuations and mixed performances characterized the Helsinki Stock Exchange on Friday as different companies and sectors performed differently based on their individual circumstances and market conditions.
