Mixed Performance in GCC Stock Markets: Regional Analysis

Gulf stocks see mixed weekly performance as Saudi index drops 0.5%

Last week, the stock markets in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region had a mixed performance. The UAE market saw slight differences in its indices, with the Dubai market experiencing a 0.04% increase to reach 3983.78 points, while the Abu Dhabi market experienced a 0.23% decrease to reach 8932.94 points.

In Saudi Arabia, the market index ended the week with a decline of 0.5%, closing at 11,499 points compared to the previous week’s performance. Similarly, in Kuwait, the general market index fell by 0.28% over five sessions, closing at 7,033.58 points. Meanwhile, Bahrain saw an increase of 0.26% in its Bahrain General Index over five sessions and closed at 2,040.84 points.

The Qatar Stock Exchange index rose by an impressive 1.41% over five sessions and closed at 9667 points last week. On the other hand, the Muscat index in Oman declined by a significant amount of 1.93% over seven days and closed at 4679
