MIT has once again topped the rankings of U.S. News and World Report for its graduate program in engineering. The prestigious ranking, which has been held by MIT since 1990, places the Institute at the top of the list for best engineering programs in the United States. In addition to its engineering program, MIT’s Sloan School of Management also received high rankings, securing the No. 5 spot for best graduate business programs.

When it comes to individual engineering disciplines, MIT excelled in six areas, including aerospace/aeronautical/astronautical engineering, chemical engineering, computer engineering, electrical/electronic/communications engineering, materials engineering, and mechanical engineering. The Institute also placed second in biomedical engineering/bioengineering and nuclear engineering.

In terms of MBA specialties, MIT ranked first in four areas such as business analytics, information systems, production/operations and project management while securing the second position in supply chain/logistics. U.S. News bases its rankings on a combination of reputational surveys of deans and academic officials as well as statistical indicators that measure the quality of a school’s faculty, research and students
