Milwaukee’s Abby Kursel: Fueling the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem with gener8tor

Abby Kursel is a leading woman in the field of technology who has made significant contributions to the entrepreneurial community. She is currently a partner at gener8tor, where she started as the first employee in 2013 and eventually became a partner in 2019. Under her leadership, the company has grown to oversee a team of 120-plus full-time employees across 46 cities, 22 states, and three countries.

Troy Vosseller, co-founder of gener8tor, acknowledges Kursel’s significant contributions to the company and the entrepreneurial community at large. He credits her with shaping the entrepreneurial landscape in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and the United States. Kursel has played a pivotal role in creating gener8tor’s gBETA accelerator program for local startups and leading the nationally recognized investment accelerator.

Thanks to Kursel’s and Brickerman’s leadership, gener8tor’s startup alumni have collectively raised over $2 billion in follow-on venture capital and provided employment to more than 11,000 individuals. Some of the notable startups from gener8tor’s portfolio include Fiveable, The Way Out, GenoPalate, and Bright Cellars. Their impact on the technology and startup ecosystem is undeniable.
