Microsoft and Zindi Join Forces to Upskill Africa’s Future Workforce in AI

In a major development, Microsoft Africa and Zindi, a leading African AI community, have formed a groundbreaking partnership that will last for one year. The main focus of this collaboration is to enhance AI upskilling across the continent by equipping the younger generation of Africans with the necessary tech skills for the future workforce. This alliance represents a significant step forward in the digital education space in Africa.

Celina Lee, co-founder and CEO of Zindi, shared her thoughts on how this partnership aims to bridge the digital skills gap that exists throughout Africa. By providing training and opportunities for young Africans to excel in AI, Microsoft Africa and Zindi hope to contribute to the advancement of technology on the continent.

In another development, Zimbabwe is looking to establish lithium battery refineries to meet the growing demand for Electric Vehicles and essential electronics worldwide. The government is encouraging miners to invest in these refineries to meet global requirements. However, there are concerns about whether Zimbabwe is adequately prepared for such a significant undertaking.

Algeria, being the largest country in Africa by land area, is facing various challenges on socio-political and economic fronts. Despite these issues, China has shown great interest in investing in Algeria. The China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC) recently completed the Bejaia Highway, which is the second-largest highway project in the nation. This investment from China is seen as a step towards progress and development in Algeria.
