Graham Nicholson, the winner of the Lou Groza Award for the nation’s top placekicker, has announced his decision to transfer to Alabama. The former Miami of Ohio All-American shared his commitment on social media over the weekend.

Nicholson’s accomplishments include a career-long 52-yard field goal against Bowling Green and a total of 113 points scored last season, ranking fourth in program history. As a three-year starter, he also holds the Miami career record for making 84.5% of his field goal attempts.

Crimson Tide coach Kalen DeBoer is in search of a replacement for Will Reichard, who holds the title of NCAA’s all-time leading scorer. With an impressive record, Nicholson successfully made 27 out of 28 field goals in his last season with the RedHawks. Additionally, he scored all but one of his 36 extra-point attempts. Notably, he is the first Lou Groza Award winner from the Mid-American Conference.
