Mewhiney High School Football All-Star Game Scores Big Success

High school seniors who recently graduated had the opportunity to participate in the Joseph Mewhiney Central Mass All-Star Classic football game at Doyle Field in Leominster. It was a chance for the players to don their helmet and shoulder pads one last time before moving on to the next chapter in their lives.

The game was an exciting one, with District 2 emerging victorious over District 3 with a score of 21-7. Uxbridge QB Kellen LaChapelle put on an impressive performance and was named the game’s MVP. The teams from Mid Wach made up District 3, while District 2 included players from various leagues such as SWCL, Colonial League, Inter-High, Dual Valley Conference, St. John’s, St. Bernard’s, and St. Paul.

LaChapelle displayed his exceptional skills during the game, showcasing his agility with some remarkable scrambles and making accurate throws to lead his team to success. In a pivotal moment in the second half, Oxford’s Robbie Fisher made a crucial interception at the goal line, contributing to District 2’s win.
