Mercer Health Childbirth Center Enhanced with $50,000 Donation from Cooper Farms: A Commitment to Quality Healthcare

Cooper Farms Generously Donates $50,000 towards Mercer Health’s Childbirth Center Expansion

Cooper Farms recently donated $50,000 towards the expansion and renovation of the Obstetrician Room at the Mercer Health Childbirth Center. The project aims to improve safety during cesarean procedures, provide additional space for increasing births, and include an enhanced nursery for unique situations. This will ensure the continuation of quality childbirth services within the community.

The Delivering on a Promise campaign, which supports the project, was initiated last summer with a $1 million donation from the Walter and Evelyn Braun Family. Since then, additional donations totaling over $600,000 have been made to the MED Foundation to support the project. Deb Hemmelgarn, Director of MED Foundation and Volunteer Services at Mercer Health, expressed her gratitude for these contributions and emphasized the importance of a successful campaign to secure adequate funds for the project.

Hemmelgarn stressed that providing quality healthcare is a commitment shared by Mercer County and its surrounding communities. With childbirth centers closing across Ohio and nationwide, Mercer Health is taking steps to meet the increasing demand for births and fulfill its commitment to the community by enhancing its services.
