Melaleuca is excited to offer a free technology camp for high school students this summer in Idaho Falls. During this camp, students will have the opportunity to learn how to build their own phone apps and custom webpages. The registration deadline for this camp is June 15th.
The IT Boot Camp will provide students with hands-on computer programming experience from experts in the field, including information technology professor Nathan Birch from Brigham Young University-Idaho. Students will also learn from industry executives at Melaleuca, who operate one of North America’s largest e-commerce sites.
Melaleuca aims to cultivate future leaders in innovation through this camp. Chief Information Officer Todd Sorenson states, “We want more of Idaho’s students to be thoroughly prepared for these remarkable opportunities.” Strengthening students’ foundation in computer science can lead to rewarding careers in science and technology.
The camp will take place at Melaleuca’s Global Headquarters in Idaho Falls and will have two available sessions. From July 29 to August 2, sessions will run daily from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Space is limited, and lunch and snacks will be provided each day. In considering applicants, Melaleuca will take into account factors such as GPA, year in school, relevant coursework, experience with programming, and overall computer skills
