Meet Kingsley: A Public Health Pioneer Returning Home to Make a Difference in Reno, Sparks, and Washoe

Born and raised in Las Vegas, Kingsley is thrilled to return to his home state. He has always been passionate about improving the lives of citizens in Reno, Sparks, and Washoe, and he is grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in the community. Prior to taking on his current role, Kingsley worked as the public health director for Mohave County in Kingman, Arizona, where he managed public health crises such as a salmonella outbreak and an active tuberculosis case.

As a leader in public health, Kingsley’s vision is focused on prevention and promotion. He strongly believes that improving financial sustainability is crucial in increasing access to healthcare services. Despite the challenges of working in public health, Kingsley sees the importance of preventing diseases and promoting healthy lifestyles to give families longevity and career advancement opportunities.

Kingsley holds a medical degree from Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara in Mexico and a master of business administration from Western Governors University. He began his medical career in Mexico, which gave him valuable insights into the cultural barriers that exist within healthcare systems. As someone who speaks Spanish fluently, Kingsley is committed to serving underserved and tribal communities with understanding cultural nuances when working with minority communities.

Kingsley is excited about exploring northern Nevada and beginning a new chapter with his family. His top priority as a leader in public health is collaboration, trustworthiness, and understanding cultural nuances when working with minority communities. With his passion for prevention and promotion, he will undoubtedly make a positive impact on the lives of those around him.
