According to Israeli TV channel Keshet-12, discussions about this took place at a meeting of representatives from two Palestinian movements in Doha. However, Arab sources have not yet confirmed this information. Hamas leaders understand that they will not be allowed to directly manage the Gaza Strip after the war, and funds for infrastructure restoration will be channeled through the internationally recognized Palestinian Authority (PA). Hamas seeks reconciliation with Fatah to promote its proxies in the PA and PLO. Palestinian elections are seen as a potential next step after reconciliation.
