Mayo Clinic Leases 10,000 Square Feet in UW-Eau Claire’s New Science and Health Sciences Building

Mayo Clinic Health System’s Lease of Space in New Science Building Approved by Regents

The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire has recently approved a 30-year lease for Mayo Clinic Health System to occupy 10,000 square feet of integrated research workspace in the new Science and Health Sciences Building. The space will include research, instructional, office, and meeting space for Mayo Clinic Health System.

The $340.3 million state-of-the-art Science and Health Sciences Building is set to begin construction this summer and will replace the outdated Phillips Hall. The building will house space for a variety of academic programs including biology, chemistry and biochemistry, computer science, geography and anthropology, geology and environmental science, public health and environmental studies, neuroscience, materials science and biomedical engineering, physics and astronomy, and nursing.

Mayo Clinic has committed $13.7 million to the project and will have space on all five floors of the building. The integration of Mayo Clinic’s research spaces into UW-Eau Claire faculty and student spaces will provide a unique opportunity for collaboration between academia and healthcare professionals.
