Maxi Kleber Returns to Dallas Mavericks’ Roster for Game 4, Providing Valuable Skills and Stability to Front Line Defense

Maxi Kleber, Mavericks’ center, poised to make a comeback for Game 4

The Dallas Mavericks received some positive news regarding their front line depth with the return of Maxi Kleber in Game 4, despite Dereck Lively II being out with a neck sprain. Kleber, who has been sidelined with a shoulder separation, is set to make his return according to multiple reports. While Kleber may not be a household name and has modest statistics of 4.4 points and 3.3 rebounds per game this season, he brings valuable skills to the team.

Kleber is primarily a strong defender who can protect the rim and switch out on picks effectively. Additionally, he is a threat from beyond the arc, shooting 34.8% from three-point range this season. As a solid stretch five, Kleber can provide valuable minutes when starter Daniel Gafford needs a rest, allowing the team to avoid playing small-ball lineups with P.J. Washington at center.

Currently leading the series 3-0 against the Timberwolves, the Mavericks are aiming to close out the series at home on Tuesday. This would give star player Luka Doncic, who is dealing with a knee injury, over a week of rest before the start of the NBA Finals in Boston on June 6.

Despite Lively’s absence due to injury, Kleber’s return will provide much needed depth and stability to the Mavericks’ front line defense. With his ability to defend from both inside and outside positions and his shooting prowess from beyond
