Maverick Games, a studio led by former Playground Games veterans, including Forza Horizon 5 creative director Mike Brown, has partnered with Amazon Games to develop a narrative-led open-world driving game. The untitled game, which is described as a AAA project, may focus more on storytelling than the Forza Horizon series.
Jamie Brittain, known for his work on the British teen drama Skins, is leading the writing team for the game. In a recent interview, Brittain discussed bringing a TV writing process to the studio to enhance the narrative experience for players.
While Amazon Games has not yet revealed a release date or title for the game, they have other exciting projects in the works, including Tomb Raider, a Lord of the Rings MMO, and NCSoft’s Throne and Liberty. More information is expected to be announced during Summer Game Fest and IGN Live next week.
