Marissa Morales: Encouraging Creativity and Curiosity Through Reading and Writing Workshops in the Bronx

Bronx bookworms join writing workshop to celebrate World Book Day

Marissa Morales, a Bronx resident with a passion for reading and writing, organized a writing workshop at the Parkchester Library on World Book Day. As an avid reader who wrote her first book in first grade, Morales has long been inspired by books and their ability to transport individuals to different places and cultures.

During the workshop, Morales encouraged aspiring writers to find their unique voice and perspective through storytelling. She emphasized the importance of books as a way to explore new ideas and experiences, as well as to gain a greater understanding of the world around us.

Morales is also a host of a monthly book club at the library, where readers can come together to discuss their favorite books and share their thoughts with others. In addition to her work with the book club and workshop, Morales hopes that World Book Day will inspire more Bronx residents to explore the resources available at the city’s libraries and engage in reading and writing as a means of personal growth and enrichment.
