2024 MotoGP World Championship Standings Updated Following Marc Marquez Penalty

The Dutch Grand Prix saw a significant impact on the latest MotoGP World Championship standings for the 2024 season when Marc Marquez received a 16-second post-race time penalty for low tyre pressure. This dropped him from 4th to 10th in the championship, but he still holds third place with 142 points.

Jorge Martin remains in first place with an impressive 200 points, while Francesco Bagnaia is in second with 190 points. Despite his penalty, Enea Bastianini and Maverick Viñales are in fourth and fifth place respectively.

Pedro Acosta, Brad Binder, Fabio di Giannantonio, and Aleix Espargaro round out the top nine positions in the standings. Alex Marquez fell to tenth after his penalty, with Marco Bezzecchi, Raul Fernandez, and Franco Morbidelli following closely behind.

Fabio Quartararo is currently holding the fourteenth position in the standings, followed by Jack Miller and Miguel Oliveira in fifteenth and sixteenth place respectively. Augusto Fernandez is a rookie who has shown promise despite being new to the MotoGP World Championship. Joan Mir and Johann Zarco are also in contention for top honours.

Takaaki Nakagami is currently sitting in eighth place while Daniel Pedrosa is ninth.
