Manchester’s Grange School Leads the Pack in World’s Best School Nominations: How a Commitment to Innovation and Community Support Paid Off

Grange School in Manchester shortlisted for prestigious World’s Best School Award

Manchester’s Grange School has been nominated for the World’s Best School Prizes for innovation, marking a first for Greater Manchester schools in this category. Head teacher Rachael Clifford expressed her delight at the nomination, attributing it to the school’s commitment and the support of the local community. With around 260 students and an on-site working farm and student-run coffee shop, Grange School was previously rated outstanding by Ofsted for providing an “inspirational learning environment in which pupils thrive.”

Four other UK schools have also been shortlisted for the T4 Education award: Venturers’ Academy and Kingsford Community School were recognized for overcoming adversity, while Avanti House Secondary School and Lydiard Park Academy are in the running for the supporting healthy lives award. The World’s Best School Prizes aim to celebrate schools that make a positive impact, with winners set to be announced in November.

In September, the finalists for each category will be revealed, and all 50 shortlisted schools will participate in a public vote for the Community Choice Award. The school with the most votes by June 28 will receive this award along with membership to T4 Education’s best school to work program, which supports teacher wellbeing, recruitment, and retention. Ms. Clifford is excited about being shortlisted and is looking forward to seeing what happens next.
