Manchester United’s Contract Talks: Decisions Made on Evans, Heaton and Forson

Manchester United announces decision regarding Jonny Evans’ future

Manchester United is currently in talks with several players regarding new contracts, including Northern Ireland international Jonny Evans. The FA Cup champions are also considering offering a new deal to third-choice goalkeeper Tom Heaton. However, the club may have to let go of 19-year-old forward Omari Forson, who has been offered a contract but may leave this summer.

After confirming the departures of Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial upon the expiration of their contracts, Manchester United has also released Brandon Williams. Although Williams had limited playing time in recent seasons due to loan spells and the failure to sell him, the departure of Varane could provide an opportunity to retain Evans, who rejoined the club last summer after initially training with the team.

Evans made 30 appearances last season and became an integral part of manager Erik ten Hag’s squad. Despite considering retirement prior to rejoining United, Evans’ performances on the pitch demonstrated his value to the team. Having previously made his debut for United in 2007 before being sold in 2015, his unexpected return last summer has proven to be successful. Looking ahead, Evans is hopeful to extend his stay at Old Trafford, stating that discussions about his future with the club should be straightforward if given the opportunity.
