The new “Jurassic World” sequel, directed by Gareth Edwards and written by David Koepp, is set to be released on July 2, 2025. This installment is expected to be the start of a new trilogy following the previous “Jurassic Park” and “Jurassic World” films. As one of Universal’s biggest properties, the franchise has seen success beyond box office numbers with theme park rides and merchandise.
Steven Spielberg will executive produce the film, with Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley producing. Two-time Oscar winner Mahershala Ali is in talks to join the cast, known for his work in films like “Moonlight” and “Green Book,” as well as TV shows like “Ramy” and “True Detective.” He recently appeared in Netflix’s “Leave the World Behind” and voiced a character in Sony’s “Spider-Verse” films.
Ali is represented by WME, Cognition, Relevant, and Sloane, Offer, Weber and Dern, LLP. The Hollywood Reporter was the first to announce Ali’s potential involvement in the project.
