Since joining the Macquarie Sports Committee, Sally has been actively immersing herself in the strategy, grant partners, and initiatives that the organization runs throughout the year. As a former elite athlete, Sally brings a unique perspective to the table and is able to provide valuable insights on new initiatives. She takes pride in putting her athlete hat on when necessary and using her previous experiences to contribute to the development of new programs.

Sally’s involvement with the Committee is not limited to just strategy and initiatives. In addition, she has also been actively participating in volunteering initiatives with Macquarie. For example, she recently took part in the Surfing Australia Coach Ready program, where she learned to surf and helped provide young people with the opportunity to experience the sport. Sally sees these volunteer opportunities as a way to give back to the community and make a positive impact through sports.

Through her work with Macquarie Sports, Sally hopes to leave a lasting impact on both the organization and the broader sporting community. She is passionate about expanding access to sports and its many benefits, and she envisions creating memorable opportunities for diverse communities. Sally also aims to support athletes transitioning from sports to careers by continuing to develop the Macquarie Sports Scholarship program and exploring new initiatives for retiring athletes. She believes that sports have the power to bring people together and make a difference in the lives of many.
