Loyola Marymount Basketball Player Arrested for Suspicion of DWI, Released Without Charges

Jevon Porter of Loyola Marymount University arrested for speeding and suspected of DWI

Jevon Porter, a 20-year-old junior forward at Loyola Marymount University, was recently arrested for speeding and suspicion of DWI. The Missouri State Highway Patrol pulled him over last week and issued him a summons. However, Porter was later released without any charges being filed against him as of Wednesday afternoon.

Prior to his arrest, Porter played 52 games with Pepperdine University, averaging 13.8 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. He made the decision to transfer to Loyola Marymount in March. Notably, he is the younger brother of NBA players Jontay and Michael Jr., who have also faced challenges in recent weeks.

Jontay was given a lifetime ban from the NBA for breaking the league’s gambling policy, while Coban was sentenced to six years in prison for a fatal DUI crash. Despite these setbacks, the Porter family remains resilient and continues to support each other through their struggles.
