London Simmons’ Tuscaloosa Visit Sparks Commitment to the University of Alabama: A Closer Look at His Recruitment Process

London Simmons explains decision to commit to Alabama

London Simmons, a high three-star DT from Flowood (Miss.) Hartfield Academy, has decided to commit to the University of Alabama after an official visit to Tuscaloosa. The offer from the Crimson Tide sparked his recruitment to take off this off-season. Despite offers from other schools like Florida, Simmons felt a deep connection to Alabama, especially with coach Freddie Roach.

During his visit, Simmons found that talking to Coach Roach was effortless, both about football and life. The 6-foot-3, 290-pound interior defensive lineman had also considered N.C. State, Arkansas, and Florida State, where he had visited and worked out earlier in the month. However, the visit to Tuscaloosa stood out to Simmons, particularly because of the high standard of football at Alabama.

Simmons was impressed by the experiences shared by players at Alabama and felt that playing for the best was essential in becoming the best. Choosing Alabama felt like coming home to him, a decision that was solidified after the official visit. Despite the early start to his recruitment process, Simmons made the choice to commit to the Crimson Tide midway through June.
